Spann Plastic Surgery

Dr. Marvin Spann has joined Las Vegas Skin and Cancer Clinics as its first in-house plastic surgeon. His addition to the practice provides seamless care to the LVSCC patients and ease of care to its providers in that issues that require the expertise of a plastic surgeon no longer have to be sent outside of the practice. His skills compliment both the practice and its providers.

Dr. Spann’s interest in the medical sciences was first sparked while conducting neurobiology research as an undergraduate at UCLA. This experience led him to the decision to attend medical school to become a physician. After graduating from UCLA, Dr. Spann attended Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN, where he made the career choice to become a surgeon. After graduating from medical school in 2000, he completed his General Surgery Residency at New York Hospital Queens.

During his General Surgery training, Dr. Spann also completed a two-year Plastic Surgery Research Fellowship at New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Hospital. Dr. Spann’s undergraduate research in neurobiology and his research in inflammation and transplant immunology as a Plastic Surgery Research Fellow has resulted in several publications in medical and surgical journals as well as several presentations at national Plastic Surgery conferences. It was during his time as a Plastic Surgery Research Fellow that Dr. Spann decided he wanted to pursue a career in Plastic Surgery. After finishing his training in General Surgery in 2007, he moved west for his Plastic Surgery training at the University of Utah, graduating in 2009.

For his patients, Dr. Spann promises uncomplicated excellence. For the dermatology patient, his presence at LVSCC simplifies the task of finding a Plastic Surgeon when necessary. For his cosmetic surgery patients, Dr. Spann provides honest evaluations, straightforward recommendations, a sincere approach, financing options and great results.

Dr. Spann lives in Summerlin with his wife, Dr. Candace Spann, and their two children. He decided to practice Plastic Surgery in Las Vegas to be with extended family and provide his children with the opportunity to grow up with their grandparents.
